William J. Southard Yellowlegs
William J. Southard, Bellmore Long Island New York yellowlegs, circa 1890. Southard made his decoys from limbs of trees rather than from cutout blocks of wood resulting in the longer slim shape of his birds. An opportunity to obtain a classic for your collection. Carrying hole in tail and typical Southard carved eyes. Well executed replaced bill and some work around the neck area. Well worn paint but alot remains.
